Stewardship

In his encyclical letter Evangelium Vitae, St. John Paul II wrote “Life is entrusted to man as a treasure which must not be squandered, as a talent which must be used well”. In 2000, the late pontiff further expounded, “It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be ground down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and so...ciety, making the world more human and more fraternal”.

Evangelization is Jesus’s call to each and every one of us to commit ourselves to Him and to learn more about His teachings and our faith as His disciples. We respond to His call by gratefully receiving the gift of our faith and then proceeding to cherish and deepen it. As we tend to our faith, in a responsible and accountable manner, we begin to grow in ways that we never imagined and mature as disciples, ready to share our faith with others in justice and love, that is Stewardship.

St. Mary by the Lake needs your help in sharing the great treasure of our Lord, Jesus Christ with EVERYONE from those sitting in the pews next to us, to those who may not know of him in our neighborhoods and even our families.

Is Jesus stirring you to make a difference? Then please consider attending the inquiry meeting for the Evangelization and Stewardship Committee on May 15th at 7:00 pm in the Education Center. Your input, your love for Jesus and your parish are needed and much appreciated!
