In November 2019, St. Mary by the Lake and St. Paul the Apostle Youth Ministry programs will be sponsoring a group of young people to the National Catholic Youth Conference as member of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee delegation.
NCYC, the National Catholic Youth Conference, is a biennial celebration of the young Church sponsored by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry. This event gathers together over 23,000 Catholic High School youth (grades 9-12) and their adult leaders from across the nation. It is an exciting three-day experience of prayer, community, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers and their adult chaperones. The schedule includes keynote addresses, prayer, workshops, opportunities for reconciliation and Eucharistic adoration, recreational activities, concerts, exhibits, and stadium Mass.
Who can go?
High School Freshmen-Seniors (current 8th graders can attend and are highly encouraged)
Youth participants and chaperones attend because they want to:
- Join thousands of other Catholic teens in celebrating their faith
- Share values and experiences
- Recognize their role in the Catholic Church
- A valuable leadership experience that can be cited on college applications.
