Come to the Quiet

COME TO THE QUIET

The Church during Easter season journeys through the Acts of the Apostles during daily Mass telling of the activities of the early Church. Then and now the need for personal and communal prayer is prevalent as we strive to be disciples of Christ.

TUESDAY EVENINGS St. Mary by the Lake church is open weekly for prayer from 5:30 until 7:30pm, and we invite YOU!

5:30pm – 6:30pm - GROUP PRAYER

  • Catholic Prayers for Our Nation
  • NOT intended to be a political forum discussion
  • Chaplet of the Divine Mercy
  • Parish Renewal and Eucharistic Revival Prayers

6:00pm – Regina Coeli instead of Angelus

  • ROSARY (rosaries have been donated by St. Matthew parish)

6:30-7:30pm – Opportunity for Quiet individual prayer and Reflection

We have the church open on Tuesday evenings because prayer is the strongest weapon in the battle against the forces of evil, and the greatest tool for personal faith growth. Prayer and other Catholic resources are available, but individuals are certainly welcome to bring their own. Perhaps a daily devotional or favorite prayer book, journal, or just enjoy the quiet conversation with God from within. The tabernacle candle burns brightly.

No time commitment nor level of participation is expected, but any time spent in prayer offers many spiritual benefits. ‘All are welcome in this place.’ This invitation is on-going and for everyone.

“It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.” – The Christophers
